New Pre-Made WordPress theme

A few days ago I found a random, half-finished WordPress theme sitting on my development site. So I figured, why not finish it?? So I did! I’m naming this one Sideways because of the slightly nontraditional way of putting the header and navigation in the sidebar.

I actually really like this theme, if I do say so myself! It’s simple, clean, but still a bit different.

If you’re interested in buying Sideways, it’s available on Creative Whim for $20!

Save the Date!

Coding God and I got our wedding save the date cards! I designed them and got them printed with Moo, who totally rocks (I also used them for business cards last year)!

  5. I love that theme AND your adorable save the dates! πŸ™‚ So cute!

I’m planning to make the move to Word Press and onto your server sometime before I go to BEA. (I’m thinking sometime in late April.) I hate the limitations on blogger, and I have a graphic design background, but I feel like my blog just doesn’t reflect that because of some of the limitations. I DON’T have a great CSS/XML background, but I do know some, and I do know a good amount of HTML. So I’m hoping I can figure it out. (I read your post this week on using a quality template to build off of and that really seems to be the way to go.)

In terms of exciting things that happened for me this week … I finished six months of leukemia treatment as of March 5. πŸ™‚ I will be on this medicine for a long time and I’m not considered to be out of the woods for another 12-18 months yet, but six months is a great milestone and I will be getting updated test results soon. πŸ™‚

When are you planning on coming into NYC for BEA? I’m going to be in the city for a couple of weeks. I get there on May 23 and leave like June 10. I’m staying with the people I stayed with last year via AirBNB. They’re super nice and it cost me $39 a night, which you just can’t beat. We need to schedule time to hang out and maybe buddy up a day or two while we’re there. I prefer to sit awkwardly in silence with someone I know. LOL … But I also know that the day before BEA starts (so I think May 28 this year) is the Teen Author Carnival and the Book Blogger Con. I didn’t do the Book Blogger Con last year and I’ve read up about it, but I’m still thinking I’m not going to do it this year. It’s extra money I don’t feel like spending since I want to get a reader pass and go to TAC.

Anyways, this is a really long comment. But I’d been meaning to touch base with you on all of those things. πŸ™‚

    1. Ohh Heather, I would love to have you as a hosting client!! You’ll love WordPress!!

Congratulations on finishing six months of treatment! It sounds like you’re doing well *hugs*

I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be going to NYC for BEA. Before I can book I have to make sure my schedule isn’t conflicting with it, which I won’t know for another 1-3 weeks. Assuming I go though, I will definitely be attending the Blogger Con!
