I REALLY hope I like these 2015 HarperTeen ARCs. I’m feeling a bit meh about some of my reads lately. For example, Boomerang. I’m about halfway through that one now but I might DNF it. I started out REALLY liking it, then I literally just picked it up again one day and wasn’t interested at all. Honestly, I think it’s 100% me. Objectively, I can see a few tiny problems with the book, but nothing that bad. I think most of the problem is just me being in a funk, you know? And now the EXACT same thing is happening with Battle Angel. But I swear, it’s not the books, it’s me! WHY AM I BEING SO WEIRD??

I have extremely high hopes for Better Than Perfect in particular. I adored Melissa Kantor’s other book, Maybe One Day.

I did some shopping!

I bought myself a few goodies this week! I upgraded my two 23″ monitors to two 27″ monitors. They’re badass! The resolution on them is absolutely insane.

27" monitor compared to 23" monitor

Above you can see one of my new monitors (left) and one of my old ones (right). Obviously I actually have two of the new ones, this picture is just for comparison purposes!

I also doubled the size of my SSD. I currently have a 250 GB SSD and I upgraded to a 500 GB. I have four other hard drives totaling up to 6 terabytes, but I was starting to run out of space on my C drive (which is the SSD). So this should tide me over for a while!

How was your week?

Did you buy yourself anything awesome?

  1. Great haul! I saw those up in edelweiss but I haven’t decided whether I’m going to download it or not…the last time, I downloaded everything…I didn’t even like them at all. Such a waste…

I can’t wait to hear what you think of Ugly Love, I’m still waiting for my copy to arrive HAHA I hear it’s her best work! Enjoy the rest of your day, Ashley!

    1. Yeah that’s true.. HarperTeen is SO hit or miss for me. I either adore their books or DNF them. Bleh. Hopefully I have good luck with this lot!

    1. I have REALLY weird thoughts about it. I almost didn’t want to post my review on Nose Graze because my experience was so odd. But I have the review scheduled for September 12th, so you’ll see.. πŸ˜›

    1. Haha! Working with two is great for design work. That way I can have the code on one monitor and the actual website on the other. Or I can put a movie up on one while I work on the other. Love it!

      I bought Boomerang. πŸ™‚

  2. Awesome book week, Ashley! I, too, indulged in HarperTeen’s Edelweiss mass-add-on of titles. Sigh. They’re VERY addictive. Just to let you know Solitaire is AWESOME. I read a UK ARC and it’s just insanely good. I really hope you like it! πŸ™‚

Those new computer monitors are insane! I love them! My laptop screen is tiny in comparison!

I bought flight tickets this week! We had a family bereavement so I’m heading to England for a week in a fortnight to see the family and show some support! It’ll be hard, but I miss them all so much and I have money saved so why not go and see your family when they need you most?

    1. I’m THRILLED to hear that you loved Solitaire! That’s great! It sounds fantastic. πŸ™‚

How wonderful that you’re heading to England! It’s always great to see family. I’m looking forward to seeing mine again over Christmas.

  3. I got only two of the Harper ARCs (way too much to read as it is!) I have two monitors at home (not as awesome as yours) and they are a life saver. I did’t buy anything, but did get some awesome gifts! I hope you enjoy your new books πŸ™‚

    1. I agree, I could never go back to just one monitor after having two! They’re so great for multitasking. πŸ™‚

    1. Yeah I got a bit tired of all the grey. I wanted WHITE!

Buying art is so much fun! I feel like there’s a lot of cool art from Etsy I’d love to buy, but I know I’d get carried away.

  4. I really like the cover of Ugly Love, I’ve also seen it in a video on youtube – will definitely be keeping an eye out for that one. Also, those monitors look damn fine.

I bought like a gazillion books yesterday, so the delivery guy will have fun carrying everything up tomorrow, but I’m SO EXCITED. πŸ˜€
