Sitting at Starbucks – I’m Booked for BEA!

New books this week

My husband read The Snowden Files and has been pushing me to read it ever since.. so I am! So far it’s really interesting. The only thing I don’t like is how it’s not very linear in some places..

I’m so psyched for The Warrior! I’m dying to see how this series ends.

New apartment… soon!

Coding God and I have been apartment hunting. We’re in a studio apartment right now and it’s getting a bit cramped, so we’re moving into a one bedroom apartment in this same building! We’re addicted to living here because it’s really nice, great location, and it has a gym (which I need to use more)!

But the best part is… IT COMES WITH A BATH!! Our studio only has a shower, but the one bedroom apartments have a bath! YES! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!

It does suck a bit though. The timing for when our current lease ends (mid-June) doesn’t line up for when this new one begins (April 25th), so we’ll have to pay rent on TWO apartments for over a while. πŸ™

I’m booked for BookExpo America!

For a while I wasn’t sure whether or not I was going to attend BEA. I wanted to, but it was possible that I was going to have a conflicting exam schedule. Well, luckily there’s no conflict, so I’m going to BEA!

I’ll be staying with my mom in New York. We’ve both booked our flights and our hotel room together. I can’t wait to start planning my schedule! (Colour coded schedule FTW.)

What’s going on with you this week? Will you be attending BEA?

    1. Thank you!! Sucks you can’t go. πŸ™ It would be awesome to hang out with you again!

  1. Ahh I’m so jealous! BEA just is not an option for me (UK based with not enough finances!) and that apartment is lush!!

    1. Aw, bummer. πŸ™ I understand though. Just the flight from the UK is insanely expensvie X_X

    1. Eeeks I can’t wait to see you too! SO EXCITING!

Maybe I’ll share my spreadsheet once it’s done. πŸ˜€

  2. Indeed there’s nothing like a warm bath and a good book! The flat looks bright and very clean, it’s nice! I love the kitchen too, there’s a lot of space!

  3. Look at you, a happy, radiant married woman! The apartment looks good and OMG A BATH. YES PLEASE!! I could sit in there with a book for hours and hours and care less about a single thing on this world =D

  4. YAY! I’m so glad you’ll be at BEA! I’m getting booked this week!

Question for you: How did you find out about a lot of the publishers’ galley drops at their booths ahead of time? I only had the in-booth signings and the autograph signing schedule, not the schedule for things like ARC and galley drops and if I hadn’t met you and Eileen, I wouldn’t have found out about such wonderful things. πŸ™‚

    1. I can’t wait to see you again!! πŸ˜€

A few weeks before BEA, someone in the BEA Goodreads Group (you should join if you haven’t!) uploaded a spreadsheet of all the scheduled signings and galley drops. That’s what I based my own list off of.

Of course, there were still a few surprise galley drops, but the spreadsheet someone uploaded seemed to have most of them!

  5. Oh yay for the apartment, that’s so exciting! It looks lovely πŸ™‚

As for BEA, it’s not looking good for me. I was almost 100% sure I could go originally…I saved my tax return for it and got time off of work. But I just had a vacation in Florida for a week (in which I spent WAY too much money), and now that Ken & I are talking about moving in together, I need to save my money for that. So, financially, I don’t think I can go anymore πŸ™
